With a lot of technical blogs and company websites, they’re quick to tell you all about the features of any given product. ‘It has a quad-core processor and 6 gigabytes of RAM!’ The salesperson or website will say. ‘It has a 10 megapixel camera and built-in Bluetooth!’ All well and good, but how does this help you, the person buying the item?
If it sounds powerful, and has an expensive price tag, then it must be good value for money right? Right?
This is the trick that retailers and websites use to suck people in to buying things they don’t necessarily need. Whilst a lot of retailers outwardly try and discourage their store staff from doing this, nor are they overly fussed if they’re getting money in the tills.
What I aim to do here is to bust through the jargon and help you, the consumer, make the right choice.
